Sidney Auto Tech, a leading automotive repair service provider in Sidney, Ohio, is excited to announce its relocation to S.R. 47 across form Menards. The new $1,600,000 development provides the company with a high-traffic location and doubling its space to 10 stalls to meet the needs of its expanding customer base. The move to the larger facility is aimed at increasing repair efficiency and offering quicker turnaround times, a critical need as the company continues to experience significant growth.
The new facility, now 8,800 square feet (up from 4.800 square feet), will allow Sidney Auto Tech to house five car racks, greatly improving the ability to manage multiple repair jobs simultaneously. By expanding their capacity, Sidney Auto Tech can leave cars on racks while awaiting parts or approvals, freeing up space to work on additional vehicles and reducing overall downtime. This expansion enables the company to meet its goals of providing faster service and allowing customers to schedule appointments within just a few days to a week.
“We’re excited to take this step forward and enhance the services we provide our customers…” said David Travis, co-owner of Sidney Auto Tech. “With this new location, we can work more effectively, allowing us to get customers back on the road more quickly than ever before.”
Sidney Auto Tech hopes to be fully operational in the new location by December 2024. Along with the larger workspace, the new facility offers better parking and improved accessibility, making it more convenient for the company’s growing customer base.
As the automotive industry has evolved, Sidney Auto Tech recognizes the increasing need for highly skilled technicians rather than traditional mechanics. The new facility will accommodate this shift, supporting the company’s efforts to stay ahead of industry changes and better serve its clients.
Tim Echemann with Industrial Property Brokers was the broker for this transaction. Tim stated, “Sidney Auto Tech’s timing for listing the property on the market as the city was planning on changing the road was perfect and provided ideal circumstances for both parties.”
The current owners, who have been with the company for over 22 years, acquired Sidney Auto Tech in January 2019 and have overseen consistent growth year after year. The decision to stay in Sidney is rooted in their commitment to the community where the business was first established.
The City of Sidney has acquired Sidney Auto Tech’s former building, with the intent to repurpose the property for city-related improvements. According to Andrew Bowsher, City Manager, “The city plans to utilize this newly acquired site for infrastructure and roadway improvements in the area. With the growth and investments through economic and industrial development on our West end, in the city’s best interest to acquire the property for these future enhancements. The city is experiencing tremendous growth, and the administration continues to plan alongside it.” These enhancements will include roadwork to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Fair Road, contributing to the broader development of the area. “We hope to finalize plans on a Millcreek/Fair Road realignment, a project that underscores our commitment to safety and will provide for better mobility throughout the area.”
